Presence of MGO (Methylglyoxal) substance responsible of anti-bacterial activity. Manuka Honey is the only food in which methylglyoxal is naturally occurring in high concentration.

*Meaning that 1kg of honey contains 500mg of methylglyoxal.

UMF 15+

UMF is an antibacterial rating, determined by comparing the antibacterial activity of honey to a standard concentration of phenol: the higher the UMF rating, the greater the spectrum and efficacy of the antibacterial properties of the honey.
